Attention to Detail
Preserving and continuing the details on a Frank Lloyd Wright roof restoration.
New downspouts for the carport. Originally galvanized round pipes connected to an asphalt coated roof, these new triangular copper downspouts were fabricated to match the angular details of the house, and installed with a new copper, hand soldered flat seam panel roof.

Matching the original craftmanship on a Greek Revival farmhouse in the Western Reserve. The sheet metal craftsmen of old often did not have the luxury of readily avalilable machine made accessories for their gutter installations. When parts were expensive, or unavailable, they would fabricate those parts by hand out of the scrap lengths of gutter. This copper end cap was cut from a small piece of scrap gutter, trimmed and then soldered to a matching cut out in the main gutter for a nice mitered end.
